My first pitch took place on 12th Feb which was more of an informal pitch. I didn’t have images at this point just ideas and sketches which I discussed with the class and took notes on their feedback, I also purchased some books from the reading list off Moodle which helped me start thinking about what I wanted from this and how id create the work.
The second pitch on 12th March again was not so much a presentation but more to discuss and show what I had so far like rough sketches and images that I had produced since the first lot of feedback:
Some of my inspiration for the first lot of images and sketches came from the advertising and exhibition books I had purchased a few weeks earlier, like the one below showing the changes that happen to a woman through her drug use.
The feedback id received on my second pitch was that the coffin and pills I was attempting to use maybe too much and almost romhanceisizng the whole teen suicide thing.
I also remembered my art work had to be portrait and so I started having a play around with some ideas, using a noose instead of pills and black and white typography style images instead of real photographs.
